Sound in Media Culture

A music band that i have in mind is a Korean music band. They produced a Korean music brand where we also called it as K-POP songs. Based on information that we can get from Wikipedia is that  Korean pop is a music genre originating in South Korea that is characterized by a wide variety of audiovisual elements. Although it includes all genres of "popular music" within South Korea, the term is often used in a narrower sense to describe a modern form of South Korean pop music drawing inspiration on a range of styles and genres incorporated from the West such as Western pop music, rock, experimental, jazz, gospel, Latin, hip hop, R&B, reggae, electronic dance, folk, country and classical on top of its uniquely traditional Korean music roots.

One of the idol group that have their own music styles in terms of aesthetics or the content is  BTS, also known as Bangtan Boys or Beyond The Scene, is a seven-member South Korean boy band formed by Big Hit Entertainment. Debuted on 12 June 2013. with the song "No More Dream" from their first album called 2 Cool 4 Skool, for which they won several "New Artist of the Year" awards including those at the 2013 Melon Music Awards and Golden Disc Awards, and the 2014 Seoul Music Awards. The band continued rising to widespread prominence with their subsequent albums Dark & Wild (2014), The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 2 (2015) and The Most Beautiful Moment In Life: Young Forever (2016), with both the latter two entering the Billboard 200. The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever went on to win the "Album of the Year" award at the 2016 Melon Music Awards.

Their second full album, Wings (2016), peaked at #26 on the Billboard 200, which marked the highest chart ranking for a K-pop album ever.In their native South Korea, Wings became the best selling album in the Gaon Album Chart history at the time. The album went on to sell more than 1.5 million copies, making it BTS's first "million seller", and allowed the group to be awarded Artist of the Year at the 2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards. To date, BTS's discography has sold an estimated four million albums worldwide.
Known for their large social media presence, BTS were listed by Forbes as the most retweeted artist on Twitter in March 2016.
