Media Effects : Media and Society

Mass media has become a common thing to our society. It is sort of technology that have  become a major thing in our society. Its helps us as a human being to function. We are being to dependent on all of this technology. If one day all of these forms of technology were taken away from us, we would be like a living zombies,don't know what to do with our lives. Socialization is a continuing process where an individual acquires personal identity and learn values, behavior and social skills fit to their social position.

Media socialization affect youth the most. Media covers  the radio, television and printed material and also electronic media like phones, computer and iPads. Since young adult are the targeted audience of the mass media , it is easy for them to influenced any other group of age. Mass media effects our behaviors and attitudes that make it important to the socialization process. Young adults and children are always surrounded by mass media and social site such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. They are being exposed to a different norms and a complete different worlds.

The positive factors of how mass media can influences a child's or young adult's life is that they can learn more about things that is going on in other countries, it keep us updated with new thing, it helps them to stay contact with people whom they don't  see very often and it can be used for an educational purpose. The negative factors of how mass media can influences a child's or young adult's life is that its influence the youth people to misbehave, become violence after watching something violence and put a fake identity and fake behaviors to fit the standards of social worlds. These young people want to be accepted by the society and the media creates and ideal  image and characteristic for them to be accepted in the society. They will do anything to be accepted by the society.
